Dry needling is an effective tool in Physical Therapy. This intervention assists in the restoration of proper function to abnormally behaving muscles in which Knots, also called trigger points, have developed. These trigger points create localized pain or send pain signals to other locations. These affected areas compromise movement leading to poor function and chronic pain. Dry needling utilizes a tiny solid filament needle to penetrate the skin directly into the impaired muscle. This evokes a healing response to improve movement and restore functional mobility.
